Blinkit Launches 10-minute Ambulance Service

Blinkit quick commerce app started ‘ambulance in 10 minutes’ service on Tuesday and said this is the start to avail better emergency medical services.
On X, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa has written in a post that the company deployed the first five ambulances in Gurugram on Thursday. ‘As we take the service to more regions, you will begin to notice an option of getting a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance through the @letsblinkit App,’ he added.
The ambulances contain life saving equipment such as oxygen tanks, AED (Automated externally applied defibrillator), stretcher, monitor, suction apparatus and emergency drugs. Each vehicle will be manned by one paramedic, one assistant, and a trained driver so that excellent service will be delivered anytime, anywhere in case of an emergency.

“The bottom line is not the primary concern here; the primary concern is to make emergency services cheaper and more efficient,” said Dhindsa.
The firm intends to grow the service incrementally and offer it in other cities within the next two years.
The Social media merchant app Blinkit is a part of Zomato which is an Indian food delivery and restaurant discovery platform. Regional rival Blinkit was brand-new Grofers; Zomato followed its rivals’ path and acquired Blinkit in 2021 to expand itself to quick-commerce offerings beyond food delivery.
