Customer-Centric Approach:
The reason why Amazon performed so well includes:
Easy Returns:
An organized and easy to follow return policy with multiple methods of returning goods.
Flexible Return Windows:
Wide profit return periods that enable consumers a good period within which to assess their purchases.
Efficient Refunds:
Fast and convenient payments which are usually returned within a short period of time.
Strong Customer Support:
Customer relations appropriate for the provision of quality services that meet the needs of the customers.
Other Platforms:
Of the total three different platforms, Amazon became an ultimate favourite of the customer with 84% preference, however, Flipkart bagged 70% and Meesho got 30% preference from the customer. But, these platforms have not completely solved the problem of the return policies implemented and customer satisfaction concerning the same.
The Importance of Returns:
It is therefore contractual when a firm wants to generate confidence amongst its customer base especially in a highly sensitive environment such as the e-commerce environment. Interactions with customers should reflect positive communication, and the simple return policy is likely to ensure that customers visualise the brand’s image positively, resulting in repeat purchases.
