India vs Australia: Day 1 of the 5th Test Sees Aussies on Top

The first day of the final test match of the series between India and Australia at Sydney has proved beneficial for the hosts natives. Having won the toss and choosing to bat it was no more than India expected from the Australian pace duo.
Early Setbacks for India:
The Indian innings was reduced to early corridors and finally the Australian bowlers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal got out early and it put India in a precarious position at 32/2.
Boland and Starc Strike Back:
Indeed, the inclusion of Scott Boland was the masterstroke for the Australians. Espionage was at its best in the Victorian quick where he got rid of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill and reducing India to a precarious 57/3.
India, then, looked like it might find its bearings again; but Mitchell Starc ensured that didn’t happen by getting rid of Ravindra Jadeja just before tea, which left the visitors at 107 for 4 at the break.
Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja Resist:
Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja fought hard and through a fine partnership they were able to slow down the New Zealand charge before tea was taken. But the last important wicket of Jadeja just before the close of the play swung the momentum back to Australia in the second day.
Key Takeaways:
Australia’s fast bowling has been good, especially leaning heavily on Starc and Boland.
India would find themselves in a spot of bother with New Zealand taking a crucial lead of 202 runs as India lost buoyancy.
It was the Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja show which generated some least hope for India.
What’s Next:
Today is also a great day to witness some more of the Test match cricketing action that is getting so exciting to watch. Australia will target to get the remaining Indian wickets; India on the other side will have to fight and make a good solid base to come back into the match. While the first day belonged to New Zealand the team from down under, Australia, will be eyeing to seize the chance and clinch the match.
